Assure Personnel are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established company in Loughton, Essex, for a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer. Specialising in Procurement & Supply Chain, we are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a ‘can-do’ attitude to help shape a robust group procurement process. Our client is a leading British Supplier of electrical and mechanical workshop equipment. Our client serves diverse global markets, including DIY, automotive, industrial, and export sectors.

Key Responsibilities 

Reporting directly to the Director, you will play a pivotal role in creating and implementing a streamlined procurement strategy. You will manage the end-to-end supply chain for a nominated product portfolio, ensuring optimum stock availability while driving sales opportunities through effective lifecycle management.

  • Supply Chain: Forecast demand, manage stock availability, and review manufacturing lead times/MOQs.
  • PO Management: Oversee the full Purchase Order lifecycle and proforma authorisation.
  • Logistics: Coordinate with freight agents and the warehouse team to ensure timely shipping, correct tariff codes, and efficient booking-in.
  • Lifecycle & Sales: Manage the phasing of new and obsolete products; identify slow-moving lines for promotional activity
  • Compliance: Maintain expert knowledge of product certifications and industry standards.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience in a Buying or Procurement role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast demand and manage complex stock portfolios.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with suppliers, freight agents, and internal departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and experience using procurement/ERP systems.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
