Assure Personnel Ltd are recruiting this senior leadership role on behalf of a leading British supplier of electrical and mechanical workshop equipment. Our client serves diverse global markets, including DIY, automotive, industrial, and export sectors. We are seeking a high-calibre Purchasing Manager or Director to report directly to the Board. This is a pivotal role for an entrepreneurial leader with a wealth of experience managing buying teams and a proven track record of sourcing finished goods from China and the Far East, specifically within the power tools or consumer goods sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy: Lead product selection and range development for wholesale and retail.
- Commercials: Oversee PO sign-offs, pricing, and margin protection.
- Operations: Manage inventory availability and optimise import logistics/shipping.
- Quality: Work with engineering to ensure QC, compliance, and warranty standards.
- Cross-functional: Coordinate with marketing and test teams for timely launches.
What We’re Looking For:
- Leadership: 10+ years in senior procurement leading high-performing teams.
- Sourcing: Extensive experience in Far East direct imports (consumer goods)
- Acumen: Strong financial storytelling and decisive, pressure-ready leadership.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of global manufacturing and market commodities.
